Even though I did not know Mike personally, I've heard of what a great person he was, and how he was a good role model for many people. I've had the privilege to meet some of his family, and work with Makeba. His family shows great qualities, and I'm sure that is due to Mike being a good example for them. During these difficult times, I will keep your family in my prayers.

Mike will forever be remembered as a warrior and changer for social justice! He always greeted everyone with a big wide smile and even offered a friendly smile to strangers. Mike is my daughter's godfather (Sheree) and always shared encouraging words with her. Thank you for being an advocate for many. I'll miss your words you always greeted me with, "hey ole' friend"!
