One time Mother (Mrs. Cora Forte') and I was at a program for St John Baptist Church at his Building; That the Year My Mother Raise the most for the St John Baptist Church. What a Happy Time. My name is John Russell and for the last 48 years I have practiced law in Pickens County with my office being located in Aliceville. During that time I had the privilege of being City Attorney and working closely with members of the City Council. As a a part of that job I had the privilege of working with Councilman Wilder. When disputes arose between the members of the Council Cookie Man was a peacemaker and helped settle many contenious issues. He loved Aliceville and always had a smile on his face. He was my friend and he will be missed.

I am truly sad to hear of the Homegoing of a good friend and prior co-worker. He was a leader in the community- a man who serves. He didn't know a stranger and didn't look down on anyone, although he was held in a prestigious place. I know my Father has received Him and has prepared a place for Him.
