Firosey Andre Hewitt affectionately known as "Dre" was born on October 27, 1968 to Josephine Hewitt Winston and James Taylor in Canton, MS. Firosey gave his heart to the lord at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Cobbsville M.B. Church.
He was educated in the Canton Public School System and the Chicago Public School System. "Dre" was a graduate of Calumet High School in Chicago, IL. He went on to study sociology at Southern Illinois University, where he received his degree in the subject. While attending Southern Illinois University, he met and united in holy matrimony to Gwendolyn Hayes-Hewitt. To this union two sons and one daughter were born.
Firosey was a loving husband , father and friend. He was one of those who never met a stranger. All who knew him loved and cared for him. He was always there for everyone, going above and beyond. He gave free heartedly to any and everyone in need.
Firosey joined Christian Embassy Church in Blackjack, Missouri, where he served faithfully. He was ordained in ministry through Cohen Institute in August 2017, were he received his license to become Minister Firosey A. Hewitt.
On February 25, 2019, Firosey was called home to take his rest. His family who he loved dearly were by his side.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife; Gwendolyn Hayes-Hewitt; three children-Justin Hewitt, Jocelyn Hewitt and Joshua Hewitt; his loving mother, Josephine(Laddie) Winston; his father, James Taylor; sisters-Maria Johnson, Rahsheda(Robert, Jr.)Truss and Lori (Cordell) Hardiman; brothers-Bryan Young, Samuel Runyon, III and Russell Winston. A host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. One brother-Darrell Runyon preceded him in death.
