OBITUARY:

Emma Harris was born June 23, 1943 to the parentage of the late Mr. Eddie Phillips Sr. and Mert Eva Phillips in the Albino community of Holmes County in Tchula, Mississippi. She departed this life on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Select Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.

She received her education at the public school in Holmes County, in Tchula, Mississippi. Emma accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church in Tchula, Mississippi.

Emma met and married the love of her life; Jim Harris, who preceded her in death.

For many years, Emma took care of the needs of many children. She was employed as a private sitter and a homemaker for families in the Tchula area.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one beloved son, Andrew Phillips (Calcumet City, Illinois); two brothers, Earl Phillips (Tchula, Mississippi); and Clarence Hoskins (Chicago, Illinois); one sister Verle Lee Phillips (Tchula, Mississippi); and a host of friends and other relatives.
