OBITUARY
Darnell "Lil Brer" Lacy was born on July 10, 1964 to the late George Lacy and Annelle Smith Lacy.
Darnell received his high school education at Lexington Attendance Center, Lexington, MS in 1983. He continued his education, an additonal two years at Mary Holmes College, West Point, MS.
Darnell was married to Emma Dean. This union was blessed with a son, Darnell Dean; a step-daughter, Nikita Hogan; four grand-daughters an one great-grand child.
Darnell begin was formerly employed at Fleetwood Homes and Wilshire Furniture in Lexington, MS; Mansoors Hardware, Tchula, MS; owner of his own business, Gwin Snack Bar and at the time of his departure, he was an employee of Holmes County Beat 5.
Darnell begin his Christian Journey at an early age, when he accepted Christ. He continued this journey while attending the Greater Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Lazarus Taylor III.
Darnell is preceded in death by his parents, Annelle Smith Lacy and George Lacy; brother, Tyrone Lacy and niece, Shaneka Lakeisha Motley.
Darnell departed this life on January 8, 2019, Tchula, MS. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Emma Dean: a son, Darnell Dean; a stepdaughter, Nikita Hogan; four grand-daughters, one great-grand child, six sisters, Florestine Lacy, Chicago, IL; Linda(Roy) Giles, Carthage, MS; Catherine Lacy, Brenda(Calvin) Davis, Bunny Lacy, and Jeanette(Eugene) Clerk all of Lexington, MS. Two brothers, Arthur Lacy, Jackson, MS; George Lacy, Lexington,MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.
