Funeral services are Wednesday at 11 am at Progress M. B.C. in Bassfield, MS

Mrs. Ella Nease Thompson, 87, died Wednesday August 25, 2021 at her residence in rural Jefferson Davis County. Services for Mrs. Thompson were held on Wednesday September 1, 2021 at Progress M. B. Church in Bassfield. Interment was in the Progress M. B. Church Cemetery in Bassfield, with Laird Mortuary in charge of all arrangements.

Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her husband Will Thompson; two children, Christian Thompson and Jimmy O’Neal Thompson; seven sisters and three brothers.

Mrs. Thompson’s survivors include seven daughters, Cora Ella (Willie) Magee, Zula Walker, Rose (Freddie) Burrell, Erma (Robert) Newsome, Michelle (Jimmy) Love, Ercon (Marvin) Griffith, Quincy Keys, all of Bassfield; seven sons, E. J. Haralson of Detroit, MI, Willie Lee Harrison of Hattiesburg, Roy (Faye) Thompson, William (Bettye) Thompson, Ray Charles (Latesha)Thompson, Michael Thompson, and Willie Charles Thompson all of Bassfield; sixty-three grandchildren, ninety-five great grandchildren, thirty-three great great grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, friends and two special caregivers, Kizzy Thompson and Tatyana Magee.
