Obituary For Linda Briggs

Linda Rose Briggs, 75, a loving wife, mother and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Linda was born on June 29, 1948 in Kalamazoo, MI to Robert LeRoy Engelman and Hatty Emogene Tyler.

Linda met a young sailor while working in the nursery at the San Diego Serviceman’s Ministry Church, and a love story was written. She and Darrell married May 19, 1972 and together built a life of love, kindness, and a strong devotion to God. Throughout her life, Linda worked as a teacher, receptionist, secretary and a multitude of domestic jobs. She loved miniatures and over a 22-year span, assembled and gave away all but two, which still sit at her house today. She was creative, resourceful, intelligent and had a strong, positive influence in the lives of so many. Linda had an infectious laugh, and was the same at home as she was out in public. She was a great cook, never cooking a bad meal, or one her family didn’t like! She was flexible and patient, never one to complain. Linda is now in Heaven, where she is happy and feels no more pain, though she will be missed sorely.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell Briggs; sons: Timothy Briggs and David Briggs; grandchildren: Amanda Briggs, Timothy Briggs, Jr., and Deylah Briggs; and great-grandchildren: Jacob and Celena.

A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 4:00 PM at the fellowship Alliance Church, with Pastor Bill Winkler officiating.
