Elisia Miranda Trujillo entered into life eternal on Friday, February 10, 2023, at the age of 94. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to many. She was born to Santiago Miranda and Magdalena Sanchez on February 25, 1928, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She was a woman of deep faith and very devoted to the Catholic Church. She taught catechism and confirmation classes as well as being an active member of the Guadalupanas for many years for Our Lady of Fatima Church in Bayard and Hanover, New Mexico.
Elisia was the last surviving sibling of her loving family who grew up in Animas Creek. She worked as a waitress before she met her husband, Audon and for a few years after to supplement the families income. She was an excellent cook and most holidays she invited the priest and widowed ladies in the church community to join the family for dinner. She became famous for her homemade pies and the corn on the cob that she sold to raise money for the church.
During her last years she enjoyed coloring and giving her artwork to those that she loved. She also enjoyed listening to music. Among her favorite artists were Jim Reeves, Antonio Aguilar and Roberto Griego.
