We gather to celebrate the life of Yolanda (Kinlaw) Walker, born December 6, 1951, in Alvin, South Carolina, she passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, at the age of 72. Yolanda was dedicated to her family, community, and faith, leaving a legacy of love and service.
She grew up in Berkeley County and graduated from Saint Stephen High School. In 1970, she moved to New York City to pursue higher education. Yolanda married Olden Walker Jr. in 1980, and together they raised two sons, Olden III and Justin.
Yolanda worked at NYNEX/Verizon for over two decades, retiring in 1998. She was actively involved in her church, serving as a Deaconess and member of the Women’s Mentoring and Prayer Ministries.
Yolanda was predeceased by her husband, parents, and two siblings. She is survived by her sons; Olden (Latoya) and Justin (Kirsy); grandchildren, and her many beloved siblings, in-laws, extended family, and friends.
Funeral service will be 2:30 pm, Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1223 Laney Walker Blvd. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, October 11th, from 3 pm to 5 pm, at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road. (706) 790-8858
