Ms. Rowena Avita Isabella Joseph, 42, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at her residence.
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13 One of Rowena’s Favorite Scriptures.
Rowena Avita Isabella Joseph began her life story and journey on March 14, 1981, at Tripler Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, growing up in Nanakuli and Waipahu, Hawaii.
Rowena attended Fort Belvoir Elementary School in Virginia, Nanakuli Elementary School in Hawaii as a gifted and talented student, Waipahu Elementary School, Waipahu Intermediate School, and Nanakuli Intermediate & High School in Hawaii. Rowena received a degree in General Education from Waipahu Adult Education School in Hawaii.
During her years, Rowena served as an administrator at an apartment complex near Pearl Harbor, worked at REGIS Inventory Services in Hawaii, and worked at CVS in Maryland.
In 2009, Rowena completed Air Force Basic Military Training and became a (GOU) Fuels Apprentice for the United States Air Force. Rowena’s awards included: Air Force Outstanding Unit; Air Force Good Conduct; National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Medal; Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon and Air Force Training Ribbon.
Joy for Rowena during her life’s journey came from being with her family and showing up for others. Rowena provided a safe space where she could cook for and feed family and friends. She loved being able to travel to places such as Guam, the Big Island of Hawaii, Oregon, South America, the Caribbean Island, and other places to see family and friends or just traveling.
Rowena was very proud of and loved her family and her family loved her. Rowena was a strong supporter of the people who loved her. As a people person, Rowena was accepting of all those she came into contact with. Rowena never met a stranger and shared joy with those she met. Rowena touched everyone’s heart, was loved, and will be missed! As a super smart, “outside the box thinker”, Rowena brought thoughts and ideas to mind and made them happen. Rowena’s favorite type of music was Local Hawaiian Kine music, she also loved gospel music, and especially loved song selections by the Joseph Harvesters. Her favorite song was Kolohe Kai Round & Around.
