Mrs. Lucille L. Williams, 87, entered into rest, Saturday, April 1, 2023, at her residence.
She was born July 4, 1935, in Davisboro, GA to the late Isarel and Elsie Hump-Lambert.
She graduated from Haines Institute 1953 Augusta, GA. Lucille was a graduate of Augusta Tech with a diploma in Cosmetology and a graduate of Tender Care with a diploma as a CNA.
Lucille was a faithful member and mother of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined. She was an Eastern Star and a member of the East Augusta Neighborhood Association.
She married the love of her life Alton Williams, Sr. in 1968 who proceeded her in death in 1971.
Lucille put others before herself. She loved to feed and entertain everyone.
She was proceeded in death by her son Tony Cody, Sr, and her grandson raised in the home Barry Cody.
Lucille is survived by her children Sherrell Cody (Augusta), Michael Cody (Atlanta), Phyllis (Marcus) Clay (Huntsville, Ala), Alton (Donquel) Williams (Augusta), Mark (Kimberly) Williams (Augusta), Camilla McGill (Griffin, GA), Sandra Hicks (Philadelphia, PA), Shavonne Cody-Fuller (Augusta); daughter-in-law Debra Cody, god daughters, Cynthia Gilmore (Augusta), Valerie Brown (Beech Island, SC) grandchildren raised in the home; Gregory (Tandra Rolland) Cody, Lakeisha (Antonio) Tankersley, Tony Cody Jr. (Lagrange, GA), and Jasmine Hill. Also, a host of grandchildren, great-grands, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who she loved dearly.
A celebration of life will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Kinsey & Walton Chapel. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. Public viewing and visitation, 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Monday, April 10, 2023, at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA. (706) 790-8858.
