Kelvin Levi Brooks, 70, of Augusta, GA, entered into rest peacefully on January 20, 2025 at Doctor’s
Hospital.
Kelvin was born on August 12, 1954, to Henry Charles Brooks Sr. and Mary Louise Brooks in
Augusta, GA.
He was a beloved and active member of the community, known for his kind heart and sharp wit. Being a steward of his Christian faith, he was baptized at an early age at Good Shepherd Baptist
Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Essie Mae McIntyre. He remained an active member of Good Shepherd under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Clarence Moore until the onset of health challenges.
Kelvin graduated from T.W. Josey High School in 1972. He furthered his education by receiving a degree
from Knoxville College in 1976. While attending Knoxville College, Kelvin pledged Kappa Alpha Psi
Fraternity, Incorporated, Beta Phi Chapter in the Spring of 1973. He was number 9 on a line of 16 James Gang. Due to his love of Chocolate Chip Cookies, he pledged under the line name “C.C. Biggs”
(Rev. Doctor that is) serving in various leadership roles.
After graduating from college, Kelvin relocated to Atlanta, GA where his sister Valeria resided. While living in Atlanta, he started his career with Dobbs International Catering. He also had an extensive career with the United States Postal Service.
Kelvin was preceded into death by his parents Henry and Mary and his siblings: Henry Charles Brooks Jr.
Valeria Mary Brown, James Edward Brooks, Xavier Winfrey Brooks, and Jerome Ivey Brooks.
He is survived by his sister Gwendolyn L. Stallings, Augusta, GA, nephews; Roderick Brown of Atlanta,
GA, and Ronzo (Kay) Brown of Orlando, FL., nieces; Farrah (Alex) Moore of Augusta, GA and Valeria Stallings of Charlotte, NC., great nieces; Aeriel Brown, Imari Brown, Raven Reeves, Alyssa Moore, and Alexis Moore, great nephews; Isaiah Stallings and Elijah Stallings and a great-great niece Zamiya
Washington. He was adored by a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Baptist Church.

He always shared laughter and something comedic. I never experienced Kelvin with negativity from the 1st grade to the 12th.
