Bessie Lee Wilson Barron, aged 90, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024, at her home in Augusta, Georgia. She was born on August 27, 1933, in Warriormine, McDowell County, West Virginia, to the late Manuel Wilson and Agnes Mayberry Wilson.
Bessie was educated K-12 at Excelsior School in War, West Virginia where she graduated in the Class of 1951. After graduating, Bessie married Joseph Barron Sr. of Hartwell, West Virginia in 1952. To their union they raised 5 children. She lived a full and vibrant life traveling around the world as a military wife and mother.
Bessie accepted Christ and was baptized at Friendly Church of God in Christ in Augusta where she was a member until her son, Joseph Barron Jr. founded Bread of Heaven Ministries. She was a member there until the family began to worship at Living Word Christian Center. Bessie was a member of Restoration Ministries International until her passing.
Bessie will be deeply missed by her loving family, friends, and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Barron Sr, son, Joseph Barron Jr., parents Manuel and Agnes Wilson, sisters, Julia Mae Malone, Elizabeth Davis, Mary Ann โJuanitaโ Huggins and brothers, James C, Jimmie George, and Moley Wilson.
Bessie leaves to cherish her memory; son, James (Dara)Barron, daughters, Deborrah B Howard, Agnes (Timothy) Steward and Ingrid (Eric) Marshall, daughter-in-law, Comfort "Liz" (widow of Joseph Jr.), two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Barron Howard and Lola Mae Barron Jackson, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Bessie also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a special daughter at heart, Kim (Marvin)Hardy and many to whom she was affectionately known as "Nanaโ. Bessie was full of kindness, patience, unconditional love, strength, wisdom and talents. Bessie L Wilson Barron will be dearly missed.
Graveside services for Bessie L Wilson Barron will be on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Park on Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA.
