Obituary For Susanne Marcella Overby Sewell

Susanne Marcella "Marcy" Overby Sewell, 73, died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Originally from Belleville, MI, she was a graduate of Belleville High School in 1968 and received her Bachelors from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC in 1974. Upon graduating she became a devoted sixth grade teacher at Inter-City Baptist School in Allen Park, MI and obtained a Masters in Educational Psychology at Eastern Michigan University.

She was an active church member at Inter-City Baptist Church, where she also taught many children in Sunday School. She moved to Boiling Springs, SC with her husband, Paul, in 2018 to be near to her grandchildren and became a member of Westgate Baptist Church.

Marcy was the beloved wife of Paul Sewell; loving mother of Elizabeth (Ernest) Davis; dear grandmother of Ian, Sophie, Jack, and Gregory Davis; dearest sister of B. Darlene Elliott and Victor F. (Cindy) Overby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Patsy Overby.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Westgate Baptist Church, 1990 Old Reidville Rd., Spartanburg, SC. Visitation will be held from 1:15 p.m. until the hour of the service at the church. Interment will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Dr., Anderson, SC.
