Roderice “Cardell” Gilliam Wheeler, TheMaDDDArtist, 33, was born in Spartanburg, SC on November 18, 1987. He departed this life on January 2, 2021. "Cardell" was the son of Tonya Gilliam (John Franklin) and Roderice Wheeler. He was reared by his maternal grandparents, Wendell and Brenda Gilliam alongside his mom.
"Cardell" was a very humble man who loved the Lord. He was a blessing to everyone he met imparting love and kindness.
He received his early education in Spartanburg School District 7. Roderice received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Winthrop University. He was a self employed Artist, Actor, Singer, and Musician. "Cardell" loved the Spartanburg Community and was actively involved in the cause of social justice.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: a maternal sister, T’Keyah Gilliam; eight paternal sisters; seven paternal brothers; four aunts, Cassandra (Russell) Blackley, Edna (Tavelin) McIntyre, Katasha (Christopher) Long and LaTish (Tony) Simpson; uncle, Michael (Tiffany) Coleman; and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other dear relatives, and cherished friends.
Mr. Wheeler will lie in state for public viewing on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC.
A Private Celebration of the Life of Roderice “Cardell” Gilliam Wheeler will be held for the immediate family only on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 1:00p.m., live stream services will be available on Facebook on the TEEFERGUSONREPORT. Following the funeral service the public is welcomed to attend the Graveside Service at 3:00 p.m. in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church St., Roebuck, SC.
I'm so sorry about this but me and little man wanted to leave this for you and I will forever keep in my heart everything you talked to me about. I am sorry how everything happened but little man will know about your talent and the love you shared with everyone. I can honestly say being with you back then taught me a lot and I wanna thank you and It's killing me this is how I gotta do it. But I know for a fact he will be just as amazing as you was.
