I worked with Fergie at the city of Spartanburg in 2010-2011. Each morning he would arrive early and crank the trucks so they would already be warm by the time we headed out for morning trash pickup. He was an absolute riot to hang around. Always something hilarious going on. Always a great attitude. I deeply regret I missed his funeral. Alan was a wonderful man.
Sincerest Sympathy,
B. Joyce Washington
To the Ferguson family my deepest condolences to out you all. I remembered Alan in the second grade at Roebuck intermediate school where we were on the play ground at Recess he had broke his arm and it was some guys picking on him and I jumped in a took up for him and that's when we became friends. It took me some time to get used to hi is nickname ( Peabody) but growing up alot of us called him that. You would have been 62years old February 14 but Allan you lived a great life and you had a wonderful and spiritual relationship with God and the Ferguson family are some of the most wonderful people that I have ever met in my life so my friend take your well deserved rest and may god continue to strengthen your family and knowing that you have earned your wings. Prayers and heartfelt condolences to the Ferguson family. Rev. Allen Ferguson was an energetic preacher who loved serving the Lord. He always had a smile on his face and a story to share. I fondly remember him teaching during the Congress of Christian Education annual session each March when I served as Dean and later as President. His passing has deeply saddened me, but I take comfort in knowing he is now resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father. May God continue to provide strength and peace to his mother and extended family during this difficult time.
