SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mrs. Mary Ellen Rainey, of Mountainview Nursing Home, went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 20, 2012. She was the daughter of the late John Grant and Amy Lark Grant. She was a native of Laurens County.Survivors include four sons, Freddie Rainey, Johnnie (Priscilla) Rainey, Calvin Rainey, and Willie Rainey of Spartanburg, SC; three daughters, Virginia R. Davidson, Peggy Rainey, and Mary Sibert of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Margaret Cureton of Spartanburg, SC; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Friday, February 24, 2012, at 2:00 PM at New Birth Church. Reverend Roosevelt Copeland will officiate. Burial will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends at 504 Brookdale Dr., Spartanburg, SC.J. W. WoodwardFuneral Home
