Mrs. Helton Fuller LaytonSPARTANBURG, SC-- Mrs. Helton Fuller Layton, of 303 Amherst Drive, passed away Saturday evening, April 6, 2013.Born February 10, 1921, in Spartanburg, SC to the late Mr. Conway Fuller and Mrs. Marie Waters Fuller Fleming. To this union, five children were born. Mrs. Layton was the third born. After the death of her husband Conway, Mrs. Fuller married Wash Fleming and to this union, five children were also born.Mrs. Layton is the last surviving member of her immediate family.Mrs. Layton joined Foster Chapel Baptist Church when she was a very young lady and attended faithfully until her health began to deteriorate.She was married to the late Mr. Willie Layton for 55 years before he passed in May of 1996.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Donny Layton; four brothers, Lawrence Fuller, Conway Fuller, Jr., Ostell Fleming, and Horace Fleming; five sisters, Lilliam Floyd, Felton Brewton, Martha Mathis, Mary Frances Clark, and Beatrice Edwards.Mrs. Layton leaves to cherish her fond memories: five sons, Mr. Larry Fuller of Charlotte, NC, Mr. Johnny Layton (Carol) of Greensboro, NC, Mr. Willie Layton (Gwen), Mr. Anthony Layton, and Mr. Dennis Layton of Spartanburg, SC; five daughters: Mrs. Mary Wright (Willie) of Fredrick, MD, Ms. Sarah Johnson; Greensboro, NC, Mrs. Barbara Wiggins (James), Ms. Eunice Parker, and Ms. Sharon Layton of Spartanburg, SC; 29 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.The family will receive friends at 303 Amherst Drive, Spartanburg, SC.J.
