From thy hearts we offer our deepest sympathy to the family of Mrs. Lou Sartor: She brought so much JOY to the world, and we were honored to be able to call her Mrs. Lou. A very prominent woman who didn't choose to serve but was chosen by GOD to be of service to his people. Soft spoken with a southern drawl, kindness that rubbed off on you that would make you for-get you were having a bad day. My uncle Rufus Landrum a (volunteer) and family was a recipient of such love from her. He would always say Mrs. Lou will give you the shirt off her back, and that what she did for people could never be duplicated. A ANGEL from Heaven has now returned and received her wings. We will never forget you. We will always teach others about you and your β€οΈ love for others.
We LOVE β€οΈ you Mrs. Lou always and forever. The Landrum & Walker Family
I met Lou years ago when she was at DSS. She remains the example that it's our duty to help and love others, anyway we can, while always treating them with dignity, compassion and respect. I am so blessed to have known her and am so sad for those who never met her. A saint really has returned home!

My Aunt Lu was so compassionate, I first met her during her career with DSS she was my caseworker, little did I realize she would one day become my Aunt when she married my Sweet Uncle Nathiel she really loved an adored him , she adopted us all as family, I respected her Work of Love Like Jesus to feed and help the homeless in @ The Soup Kitchen she is truly missed and forever loved. She is a Pillar to her Family and friends and to Spartanburg as well. Rest in Peace Auntie Lu ( Haney and Foreman Family)
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I worked with Lou and Joann and love them both. I saw Lou a few months ago when I took some things to donate that they needed. She was a special person and will be forever missed. Rest in peace sweet Lou!
She was a very sweet, caring, loving lady. Always kept a smile on her face, no matter who disrespected her she still loved everyone. She grew attached to me and my kids. When I got remarried, she let me and my wife Angel get married at the soup kitchen and was happy bc we were the first couple that comes to the soup kitchen to chose to get married there. She was a big help in our wedding as well. Her face and voice lit up when she was in need of an Easter Bunny last year and I chose to be it for her. Love you from Kelvin and Angel Kerns.

From the first time I met Lou many years ago as a first-time volunteer to the last time I saw her during Christmas break, she ALWAYS made me feel like a part of the Soup Kitchen family. I loved her so much! She was special, a true God send to our community. My heart is breaking right now for her family, the Soup Kitchen staff, and the many people she served and who also came to love her over the years. However, I KNOW that Lou loved Jesus and had a relationship with Him! I take great comfort in knowing that she is now at the feet of our Savior honoring, praising, and worshipping Him. I look forward to seeing her again some day soon! In the meantime, may God's love and comfort be felt by her loved ones....all of us. As Matthew 5:4 says: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Love and God Bless.
