Kenneth Mitchell passed March 28, 2022.
Kenneth “Kenny” Mitchell was born on July 3, 1993 to Angel Mitchell and Roddrick Gray. He entered eternal rest on March 28, 2022. Kenny grew up in Spartanburg, SC and graduated from Dorman High School. Kenny attended Lander University and later moved to Atlanta, Ga to pursue his Barber career at Cutting Edge Institute. Barbering became his passion and he mastered his craft. He started his own business, Kenny’s MagicTouch Cutz in 2015. Prime Time Barbershop was his home away from home where Kenny gained an extended family throughout the years by working along side his peers and with his devoted clients. Kenny was truly a goal setter with positive energy and a humble spirit. He was always determined to exceed and accomplish his goals. Kenny exuded a style of his own with a love of shoes which included his favorite brand, Jordans. He was a collector of Jersey’s and Jordans. Kenny also loved his two pet turtles, “Money” and “Angel.”
Kenny was a loving son, grandson; a great big-brother and cousin, nephew and a devoted fiancé and soon to be step-dad; while also touching so many others with his infectious smile.
Left to cherish his memories are: his mother, Angel Mitchell-Calhoun (Myron, Sr.), Spartanburg, SC; his father, Roddrick Gray, Spartanburg, SC; his siblings, Myron “MJ” Calhoun, Jr., Spartanburg, SC, Antonio Cade(Bianca), Roddresha Gentry, Roddrick Gray, Jr., Ashton Gray (all from South Carolina); Grandmother, Eunice Mitchell (of the home); Grandparents, Elaine and Jimmie Gray (Spartanburg, SC); Special Aunt; Sonya Mitchell (of the home), a special cousin, Noah Porter (of the home); a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Also, left to cherish his loving memory is his fiancé, Breonna Simmons and son, Mason Brooks.
Kenny was proceeded in death by his grandfather, Harold Mitchell, Sr. and brother, Travoiris Gentry.
A Celebration of the Life of Kenneth Rasaan Mitchell will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Believers Fellowship Assembly, 150 Marion Ave., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Drayton, SC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC.
