John Davis

John was my closest brother, I loved him dearly. He was always so much fun and so laid back. He could read a book in a couple hours. It was like he absorbed them. He and I went on a trip across the country in an old Ford Econoline van. We drove all day everyday and would stop to eat at Stuckey's resteraunt. When we stopped for the day we'd eat cold pork & beans from a can with bread. We read a lot of books on that trip. We visited our Aunt Lorraine and her family at Coppers Cove in Texas then traveled to Washington State to visit my cousin John. He stayed and went mountain climbing with John and I flew back to Ohio to work. He drove the whole way back to Pennsylvania by himself. It was a wonderful adventure. Twice the van broke down.

LOVE and will always remember you, best Uncle who was just like a big brother, looking out for us kids. Always did wonderful, great things with us. Until we all meet again love Kay

My heart goes out to John's family in Spartanburg. As John's older sister, I have known and loved him since I was seven and he was born. He was always very smart and full of life and growing up in our big family was an experience that made us all appreciate one another and love one another dearly. As John got older, he took great delight in teasing our mother, and had a very close relationship with her. John was so happy when he moved to South Carolina. He loved his job and the folks he worked with at the school. And I know that his happiest days were those he spent with Gwen and his family in South Carolina. God Bless you all for making him so happy.
