Obituary For Gussie Rogers

Spartanburg, SC – Mrs. Gussie Lee Rogers, 96, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 15, 2016. Mrs. Rogers was the 8th and last remaining offspring of the late Thomas Peoples and Frances Byrd Peoples of Blair, SC Gussie was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She retired from Kings County Hospital System in Brooklyn, NY after 26 years of faithful service. Left to cherish fond memories are: her God-Daughter/Guardian Angel, Barbara Jeter of Spartanburg, SC; her sister-in-law, Pauline Peoples of Wilmington, NC; her nieces and nephews: Anna Knox, Sara Frances Davis, Mackie Peoples, Julian Peoples, Lloyd Richardson, Mattie Amos, Roy “Pee-Wee” Peoples, Jr., Dorothy Peoples and Lisa Knuckles all of Spartanburg, Gene Collier of Gainesville, FL, Malvenia Peoples and Golden Peoples, Jr. both of Wilmington, NC, Joseph Glen Johnson of Valley Stream, NY and Thomas Johnson of Poughkeepsie, NY; and an abundant host of other great nieces, nephews, distant cousins and faithful friends. Gussie was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Rogers of Shreveport, LA; four brothers and eight sisters all raised in Blair, SC.
