Ebony Shaqun Oglesby was born May 30, 1993 and entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, August 27, 2023. Ebony was born to Brenda Oglesby and to the late Clarence Gene Oglesby, Jr. She joined the United House of Prayer for All People at birth.
Ebony graduated from Paul M. Dorman High School, Class of 2011. She excelled in a number of activities while in school; namely, softball, percussion and band, and graphic design at R.D. Anderson Vocational School. She was employed at Z F Lemforder.
To cherish precious memories, Ebony leaves: two loving sons, Amarian Barnes and Amir Barnes both of the home; her mother, Brenda Styles Oglesby; maternal grandmother, St. Catherine (late Apostle D.) Styles; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mae Frances (late Clarence) Oglesby; a sister, Tiyika Oglesby of Spartanburg, SC; a special aunt, Tjuanda Styles (Clyde) Wright of Atlanta, Georgia; two special uncles, Thomas Styles of Los Angeles, California and LA Nelson of Atlanta, Georgia; four special cousins, Keonia Styles Smith and Douglas Rashad Styles both of Spartanburg, SC, Giovanni Nelson and Gabrielle Nelson both of Atlanta, Georgia; godmothers, Shryl Steen of Atlanta, Georgia and Peaches Dillard of Newport News, Virginia; godfather, Reggie Moore of Spartanburg, SC; godbrothers, Darion Knight of Atlanta, Georgia and William Wilson IV of Washington, DC; godsister, Tatiana Wilson of Newport News, Virginia; additional siblings, Keyria Sullivan and Ciera Kilgore of Greenville, SC and Jacoby Jones of Spartanburg, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and friends.
Ebony loved God. She served as a Maid for Bishop S.C. Madison. Ebony took pleasure in operating the register during the Maid Auxiliary rotation in the Madison Cafeteria. Ebony truly loved her boys and her family. She was a fashionista and was a staunch believer in pampering and self care. She loved graphic design and was a strong supporter of her sister's endeavors. Ebony was loving and kind. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
A Celebration of the Life of Ebony Shaqun Oglesby will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the United House of Prayer For All People, 660 S. Church St., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Shiloh Memorial Gardens,4040 New Cut Rd., Inman, SC.
She will lie in repose from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service.
