Spartanburg, SC: Douglas Earl Young, known to us all as "Dougie Fresh", entered into eternal rest on January 15, 2023. Mr. Young was born on February 23, 1967 to the late Charles and Adder Young.
Doug graduated from Spartanburg High School. He joined the United States National Guard.
Mr. Young was a devoted hardworking man. He worked at International Wire for over twenty years, before leaving to work at FlexQube, Inc.
Doug loved his children and family tremendously. He enjoyed spending time with them, and he was "The Life of the Party." Mr. Young was a die-hard Miami Dolphins, Florida State Seminoles and Los Angeles Lakers Fan. He was also an avid Pitbull lover.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his children, Sharita (Tierone) Gaston, Kada Young, Vania Mackerson and Jerrod McKinney; his grandchildren, Bre'asia McCree, De'Keria Krind, De'niyia Krind, De'melia Krind, Taylor McCree, Maliyah Mackerson, Jaquan McKinney and Jadavion McKinney; his siblings, Barbara Booker, Ernest (Veronica) Young and Padro Young; his special friend, Yolanda Black; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Doug was preceded in death by: his brothers, Charles Young, Jr., Fred Young, Donald Young and Clemeth Young; and a special friend, Kim Shippy.
A Celebration of the Life of Douglas Earl Young will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2256 Cannons Campground Rd., Drayton, SC.
