Donna Kaye Mayes was a lovely lady always concerned about others and dedicated to taking care of and honoring other people. She was a great blessing and inspiration for me. I learned what Christ-likeness truly is by how she lived. She is greatly missed especially today on her birthday. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to know her. My condolences goes out to the Mayes and Moore family. I've known Sister Donna since she was 10 years old, and watched her mature down through the years. She will surely be missed at her church, Forest Chapel CME. She worked in the vine- yard. Donna took God's hand when she heard Him call, she had to turn her back and leave us all. She couldn't stay another day, because she found peace on Sunday. She fought a good fight, she finished the course, she kept the faith. she's okay, she's on her way, because the "Glory Train" left on Sunday. weeping may endure for night, but joy will come in the morning. Donna Kaye was a highly gifted and exceptionally talented, in all sectors of society. She was a great student and leader at our beloved Lincoln High School of Fair Forest. As time moved on, she became inextricably bound and bonded with the Geter family, becoming the proud mother of our nephew Tony. We will cherish her memories and will commit to being stellar representatives of her legacy with her son and other members of her immediate and extended families.

The heavens rejoiced on March 6 when such a treasured angel joined the heavenly hosts. Oh what a day that must have been when Donna and Junior reunited! It makes my heart glad to imagine that scene! You will be missed sweet friend...I treasure the many years we worked across the hall from one another. Devoted mother, friend and teacher.
