David Henderson entered into eternal rest on December 30, 2024 at the Mountain View nursing home in Cedar Springs. David was born on July 16, 1943 to the late Willie and Molly Garner Henderson in the West Spring community in Spartanburg County. He was educated in the union county public school. He was a faithful employee of graf metallic of Spartanburg, South Carolina for 35 years. He was hired as a truck driver and later became the flat department manager. His brother James was led by God to go see his mother, and on that particular day he was approached by David and asked do you need a job and was instantly hired. Shortly after David’s health began to fail. He was taken care of by his beloved sister, L Willie. Elder Henderson faithfully ministered in the home he love that elder would bring his keyboard playing inspirational music and singing songs of praise. During his ministry in the home, David confessed, he believed God into his life. David was very knowledgeable of the Bible. His favorite verse was John 316. The ministering continued at the Mountain View nursing home with minister, Odell, Sloan, and others. David was gifted playing the piano he loved playing. When he was younger, he enjoyed playing baseball in the fields of Whitestone, South Carolina with his brothers, cousins and friends. He leaves to cherish, dear and precious memories, too: his son, David, Jr. (Mariah); three grandchildren, David, Noel, Richardson, Kennedy, Richardson, Kamari, Richardson; brothers, Elder, James, W Henderson (Odessa) Henry Sims; sister-in-love, Barbara Lindsay; one aunt,Beasley; in a host of niece‘s nephews and other relatives. David, you’ll forever be in our hearts. David was proceeded in death by his parents, Willie and Molly Henderson; maternal grandparents well and Susie Garner; paternal grandparents, K and Annie, Floyd; sisters, L Willie Gambrell, Mittie Dogan; Brothers Rosevelt, Sims,Dolphus , Tom Henderson, Jack Henderson; sister in love, Willie, May Henderson; Betty Sims, Georgiana, Sims; brothers in love, Sammy, Gambrell and Pastor Bobby Dogan.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chape, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Buria will be in the East Spartanburg Cemetery, Spartanburg, SC.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 6:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at the chapel.
