Charles Edward Mathis Bobo entered eternal rest on November
12th, 2024. He was married to Linda Dodd Bobo and was the
son of the late Dean McDowell and Shirley Dean Bobo Mathis.
Maternal grandparents, the late Roxie and Evans Bobo.
His departure leaves a void that words can scarcely fill, yet his
legacy of love, humor, and conversations with anyone that he
encountered, will remain in the hearts of all that knew him.
He retired from Spartan Bakery where he worked for over 40
years. He was a member of Foster’s Grove Baptist Church, and
an avid fan of the Clemson Tigers.
He was an incredible Husband, Stepfather, Brother, Uncle,
Cousin, and Friend. Left to cherish fond and loving memories
are his loving wife of 24 years, his stepdaughter Latasha (Bobby)
Peoples, his siblings Joe Dean Bobo, Allen (Eyvonne) Lynch,
Donnie Smith, Jimmy Bobo, William Bryant, Peggy (Wallace)
Chambers, Errie (John) Porter, Gail Bobo (Jimmy). In-laws Ben
(Jannie) Dodd, Ronald Dodd and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by brother in-laws: Dr. John Porter,
Donald Dodd, sister-in-law: Eddie Sue Thompson, father-in-
law: Jasper Dodd, mother-in-law: Vanecca Dodd, aunts Rosie
Lee Gist and Tressie Mae Bobo Bryant
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 2:00pm at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Foster’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Linda, Daddy (Big Lance) had been asking about Charlie, he called daddy just about every day. But we had no idea he passed just found out today, he will be missed dearly, he always called Mama and Daddy to check on the moat every day. I guess and him had a fun reunion.
