Obituary For Arthur Sims

Hackensack, NJ - Arthur “Mack” Sims, 77, of Hackensack, NJ, journeyed peacefully to eternity Monday, October 24, 2016. He was born January 16, 1939 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Lydia and Henry Sims. He was married to Nannie Mea Sims (née: Woodruff) for fifty-three years. Mr. Sims graduated from Lincoln High School. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Hackensack for over four decades Arthur worked for the Lincoln Paper Company for several decades as a machine attendant. He was also employed with the Newark Box Company. After retiring he started a landscaping business. Arthur Sims is survived by: his loving wife, Nannie Mea Sims; his sons, David (Tiffany) and Frederick Sims; his granddaughters, Ashley Sims (Stephon), Tomicka Mack and Talia Sills; his great-granddaughters, Chamiah Dominick and Johniya Wright; his siblings, Earnestine Sims, Josephine Oates (Clinton) and Clyde Sims (Ethel Mae); his sisters-in-law, Cora Brown and Willie Mae Woodruff; his brothers-in-law, James, Jonas, Lewis, Kent and Marshall Woodruff; and a host of relatives and friends. He was pre-deceased by his beloved twin sister, Dorothy Sims, three brothers, and one sister. A Celebration of the Life of Arthur “Mack” Sims will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 110 Brewton Road, Spartanburg, SC.
