Roy Johnson Sr. was born March 11, 1946 in Brooklet, GA to the parents of Alex and Ollie Mae Johnson. He departed this life February 16, 2024.
Roy attended Booker High School where he was a baseball standout. After receiving his diploma in 1965, he began landscaping, concrete work and DJing with his twin brother Foy.
Roy was a family oriented and a very caring people person.
Roy leaves to cherish his memories: 2 children, Roy Johnson Jr. (LaJoyce) and Celest Johnson; 1 brother, Foy Johnson (Lucy); 5 grandchildren, Shaquese, Ja'Quan, J'Aunah, Brittany and Racquelle Johnson; 2 great grandchildren, Bailey and Bryson; He also leaves to cherish his memories is a significant other, Rochelle Ruffin and the mother of the children, Edwina Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Fri., Feb. 23, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home. Services will be held on Sat., Feb.24, 2024 at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be held at Palms Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.

I remember mr.roy and foy, back in the 70s and 80's spinning those 45s on the turntables. I honor those brothers who i am proud to say,were professional, and into their music. I salute the original dj's from Newtown. May GOD bless the family with his peace. St.jn 14th chpt. Charlie mack and family.
