Mrs. Pinkey M. Smith was born was born June 23, 1921 in Jasper, Florida to Minister E.D. & Sweetie Lewis. She peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on December 13, 2023 and gained her heavenly wings.
Pinkey met and married Mr. Sam Smith who preceded her in death.
Pinkey touched the lives of many with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support. She was well loved by anyone who interacted with her. She had several dear friends whom she treated like family and adored for many years. She was well-loved by the community in which she lived.
Pinkey was preceded in death by her two sons, Roosevelt Smith and Elijah Smith; her sisters, Bessie Hightower, Mattie McCary, Essie Lewis and Eva Moultrie, and one brother, Spencer Lewis.
Pinkey leaves to mourn her passing; three daughters, Lillie Mae Hurley, Edith Mae Smith and Sylvia Schmidt; two sons, Sylvester Smith Sr. and Samuel Smith, Jr. Pinkey's love and guidance extended to her family, 26 grandchildren and 54 great grands, and a host of many relatives and friends to cherish her memories. She leaves a lasting impact on their lives, and they will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Her legacy will live on through the memories of those fortunate enough to know her.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Fri., Dec. 29, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home. Services will be held 11:00am on Sat., Dec. 30, 2023 at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be held at Galilee Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.
