Obituary For Curtis Rainey Sr.

Curtis Rainey Sr. was born in East Meadow, New York. He was born to the late Loretta Rainey and Joseph Hough.

He attended Riverview High School in Sarasota FL and while in school he enjoyed playing basketball and football. Also he enjoyed watching sports and talking to the ladies.

Curtis was a hard worker and he liked his position as a Fork-lifter Operator. He had good work ethics. Curtis was a good father and he had a big heart for children. He wouldn't allow one child to feel like a step-child.

He enjoyed being sociable. We believe he considered himself as a Master Griller and a good cook. He would BBQ and do all the side dishes.

Later in life, Curtis accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He loved God and he wanted to know more about God.

Preceding his death was his mother; Loretta Rainey (Bon Knee) and his father, Joseph Hough, and grandmother, Irene Rainey.

He leaves to cherish his memories; His loving children; Eboni Rainey-Haynes (Antonio), Curtnetria Rainey, Curtegra Chapman (Jorenski), Curtis Rainey, Jr., Jamal Rainey, Kimora Green and Jaceon Lemons; Siblings; Reginald Rainey, Kareem Hough, Shakenya Moye, Latisha Huffman, Tamika Rainey, and Melissa Cohen; Aunts & Uncles; Dr. Cheryl Logan (Bill), Joan Enoch, Diane Rainey-Colbert (Jimmy), Erica Rainey, Rhonda Cole and Robert Lyons; six grandchildren,and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Fri., Feb. 2, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home. Services will be held 11:00am on Sat., Feb. 3, 2024 at Happy Gospel Church. Burial will be held at Galilee Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.
