Obituary For Henry Burton Jr.

(February 7, 1943 --October 25, 2024)

TYLER--Funeral services for Mr. Henry Burton Jr., 81, are scheduled for 12 pm, Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Peoples Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Marcus Jackson Sr, officiating and Supt. Jesse Nelson and Bishop Darrell Wash serving as eulogists. Burial will be in Cathedral in the Pines Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Burton was born in Colorado City, Texas on February 7, 1943 to the late Henry Sr. and Carrie Burton. On October 25, 2024 our Super Man, “Big Skip” went home to be with the Lord.

He was a graduate of D.W. Wallace High School Class of 1962 in Colorado City, Texas. Mr. Burton retired after 30 years of service from Goodyear/Kelly Springfield Tire Company. He was a member of the Community Service Club and he was Founder of Wallace School Reunion and President for many years.

Mr. Burton was preceded in death by his spouse: Alma Burton. He is survived by three daughters: Reguina Burton Hollis of Dallas, Pastor Pamela Wash (Darrell) of Wilmer and Sonya Nelson (Jesse) of Tyler; siblings: Jessie Burton of Tyler and Louise Burton of Fort Worth; sister in laws: Marie Spencer and Martha Whitaker both of Tyler; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Public viewing will be Friday, November 1st from 2 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
