Tyler--Funeral services for Co-Pastor Sandra Ferguson Black will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11 am in the sanctuary of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Frank B Mosley Sr. serving as eulogist. FACE MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company. She was born on July 3, 1957 and transitioned on May 12, 2021.
Mrs. Black graduated from Chapel HIll High School and attended Tyler Junior College. She was a former supervisor for the Federal Building in Tyler and a member of Grateful Worship Center in Tyler, Texas.
Mrs. Black served as Co-Pastor for Mt. Horeb Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Texas under the leadership of her late husband, Pastor Ronnie Black.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memories are two sons: Quinton Ferguson of Tyler, Texas and Ciron Black of Pasadena, California; two daughters: Shamia Black Baulkmon of Dallas, Texas and Kawaun White (Louis Sr) of Flint, Texas; one sister: First Lady Joyce Mosley (Pastor Frank Sr.) of Tyler, Texas; two brothers: Charles Garner Jr. of Seattle, Washington and Larry Garner of Troup, Texas; ten granchildren and one great grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.
Public viewing is on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 2 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home. From 10 am to 11 am on Saturday, May 22nd at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
