Tori Mannes planted 5 trees in memory of Vanessa Maxey . - July 15, 2023
Upon moving to Dallas, Vanessa was the first person who reminded me of home. Being from a small town in Louisiana, Vanessa's home town wasn't far away. She inspired, encouraged and her smile always bought a warmness to so many hearts. A beautiful and gentle spirit with a bigger heart that she freely shared with all. I will miss you more than you know but I'm so blessed by your presence in my life. To the family, I understand the void that is in your hearts, but please know that to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord! I carry you in my heart and prayers. Charlotte Green
To Vanessa's Family, my prayers and thoughts are with you. May your wonderful memories of this sweet and gentle woman be with you as you mourn. Many Blessings. Kathryn McCartney, CEO Head Start of Greater Dallas.
It is hard to adequately describe the impact that Vanessa made on ChildCareGroup and the children and families she served over the past 48 years. She recruited them into our program, then helped them set and pursue goals for the child, the parents and the entire family. As we often say, 'we measure a lot of things at ChildCareGroup, but it's hard to measure the impact of hope.' Throughout her career, Vanessa gave hope – and opportunity – to countless children and families. Indeed, hers was a life well lived.
We mourn the loss of this beautiful, kind, and compassionate colleague and friend. Her legacy will continue through all those whose lives she impacted.
Prayers of comfort to her family and loved ones.
Tori Mannes, CEO, ChildCareGroup
Condolences to the Maxey family from ChildCareGroup. Vanessa was an amazing person. She was part of our ChildCareGroup family for 48 years and made a tremendous impact on the families and children she served. She loved giving to others and did so compassionately and unselfishly. She touched so many lives in ways that are impossible to quantify. Your ChildCareGroup family will keep the Maxey family in our prayers. We miss you Vanessa. -Ernest R. Martinez, VP of People and Culture, ChildCareGroup
