It is with heavy hearts but joyous spirits that we announce the passing of Sandra H. McCrary, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and vibrant soul who graced our lives with unmatched warmth and affection. Born on August 12, 1950, to the union of Mamie Williams-Hailstock and Advertisen Hailstock, in Farrell, Pennsylvania, Sandra embraced life with an unwavering zest that resonated in her laughter, her uplifting singing, and her infectious dance moves. Her journey among us was completed on February 23, 2025, as she peacefully entered eternity.
Sandra was a radiant spirit who found joy in the simplest of pleasures—she loved to exercise, play the lottery, and most importantly, spend time with family and friends. She was known for her signature two-finger whistle, which could brighten any room and signal her presence.
Sandra was a proud member of the community and an accomplished professional, spending many fulfilling years at IBM, where she left an indelible mark with her dedication. Sandra’s legacy, however, extends far beyond her career, it is cherished in the hearts of her family. Sandra was united in holy matrimony to Eldridge McCrary Jr. and together they created a welcoming home for their children Margo Hailstock Demetria McCrary, Jamila Green, special bonus son Lamont “Tub-A-Lub” Hailstock and adoptive daughter- Pam McCrary McClain.
Sandra’s legacy is emboldened by her grandchildren Keke Hailstock, Julian Christopher Green, Billy Diane Craig, Jordan Christiana Green, Gabriella Denise Rucker, Jamal McClain, Dante McClain and Jasmine McClain. Sandra also shared precious moments and memories with her siblings Carolyn Patricia “Pat” Hailstock, Sam Hailstock and Bobbie R. Williams.
As Sandra’s faith became sight, she was reunited with her parents, husband and sister Susie Mae Williams all who preceded into eternity. She loved the song “Going Up Yonder,” a beautiful melody of hope that encapsulates her journey and the faith that guided her. As we reflect on her life, we take comfort in knowing that she is embraced by the love and light of her Savior.
As we prepare to honor Sandra's remarkable life, the family invites the community to join in celebration of her beautiful spirit at Greater Morris Chapel AME, 926 Darr Ave in Farrell PA on Saturday March 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM with a public viewing and family visitation. The funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor James Moore presiding.
Following the services, Sandra will be laid to rest after a committal ceremony at Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon, PA. where we will continue to reflect upon her life and the countless ways she enriched our own. She touched many hearts and will be deeply missed. Her spirit will forever inspire us, reminding us to dance, to sing, and to love each other fiercely, just as she did.
At this most intimate time, the beloved family of Sandra H. McCrary elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care and Professional After Care Arrangements with J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 1059 Hamilton Ave, Farrell PA, 16121 Phone (724) 983-1523.
