I have known Shamar for about thirty years, we met at checkers as kids working while going through high school but stayed friends over the years but lost touch over the years and I guess that is life and I wish I would of gotten a chance to see him again before he passed. I met him when he started working there, I had been there awhile and we had this jerk manager named Tony and he picked on everyone so he would pick on Shamar about his name and so some of us did it to and one day he let me and everyone know that his name was Shamar not Shalamar and I respected him so much because he stood up for himself and that was how we really became friends. Shamar also would stand up for others, especially the ladies like me because he stood up with me as well and that was how I knew he was truly a good person because he was selfless. His smile was one of the sweetest things about him besides who he was because he was such a good person and a true friend and it is still hard to believe he is gone and I will never see his smile again, laugh with him or talk with him. I wish he only knew how special he was to me and how he has truly touched my life, I will never forget him, he is forever in my heart. I love you friend and I miss you so much.
Words cannot explain the grief I felt after hearing you had went on to Glory but I have to rejoice because I know you are with the Father, in his loving arms where you won't have to suffer anymore and you can truly be happy. I will forever miss you my great friend.
He's Only Gone on Ahead By Kelly Roper
You have only gone on ahead of me, Not just left me behind. Although I can't be with him right now, He lives on in my heart and mind.
The day will come when we will meet again On Heaven's distant shore, And the two of us will walk hand in hand Together forever more on Heaven's distant shore.
