I only had the honor to meet Mamie once, visiting Athens as a child in 1977. I remember enjoying myself a lot, even at the age of 5. Although my connection to Mamie, Myra Johnson, passed away in 2004, I still feel a bond with my Georgia relatives, and think of you all of the time. RIH, Ms. Mamie

Dear Auntie. It was a pleasure being in your presence and hearing your kind words. I will miss your beauty and your affection. My condolences with Geneva and her family. May God Bless you. Love Melissa
As I told Geneva on the phone, if more people in this world were like Mamie, this world would have a lot less problems. I feel fortunate that I got to know Mamie over some number of years. What a neat human being. Best wishes to the family in this difficult time. Our loss is Heaven's gain.... Chris V.
