Ellwood was my older cousin whose house we visited quite a bit as children. I always knew him but recently I had the pleasure of really getting to know him. What an amazing person. He was kind, intelligent, insightful, funny and he loved the Lord. I'm so grateful we got to spend some time together last year as a family. I had no idea it would be our last. You have to love people while you can and let them know you love them. What a beautiful, beautiful Legacy he left in his children, grandchildren and loving wife. The entire family is in my thoughts and prayers! Love always Sibyl Griffin
What a privilege for us to have met and known Ellwood. He was truly a servant of our Lord in the lives he touched and ministered to. He was so very humble, kind, and loving to his family and friends. Our loss is definitely Heaven's gain. We love you Melissa and the rest of the family. Praying for you all during this time and going forward. Love, Rhonda and Lynn
I remember my cousin Elwood from our childhood in the suburbs of Pittsburgh—kind, well spoken, and remarkably intelligent. He carried himself with quiet confidence and earned the respect of everyone around him. Though life took us in different directions, I always admired him from afar. He became a successful engineer and a true example of Black excellence. More importantly, Elwood was a man of faith, and we take comfort in knowing that he now lives forever with God. His life continues to inspire, and his spirit will always be with us. My deepest condolences to his wife and children—may you find peace and strength in the memories you shared and in the promise of eternal life. Randy and Monique Griffin
