THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING SIR, I WILL CARRY THE MEMORIES OF YOU AND ALL OF THE TIME I SPENT BEING EDUCATED BY YOUR EXCELLENCE WITH ME FOR THE REST OF MY LIFETIME LEARNING. R·I·P DR.JOHN TOWNSEND DR. T BROTHEERRR!! BIG•D ❤️
One statement. One statement to a young boy that changed SO much in his life. "Learn something new every day before you go to bed." I was a 5th-grader at Winterfield Elementary School in Columbus, GA. I had the pleasure of introducing Dr. Townsend to my school at an assembly. Those are the words he spoke to me after the program ended. With him being the first black man to accomplish academically what he did at Columbus College and my love of academics, I took those words to heart. All these years later, I still adhere to his direction and wholeheartedly believe I would not be the successful computer systems engineer I have become without Dr. Townsend's direction. He is the earliest academic influence in my life that was not from my home. By proxy he is also responsible for everyone I have been able to help in my life. He cast a stone of motivation in my life that still ripples on. I now have the pleasure of living two houses down from his Son and without question, he is survived by a good man. May he rest in peace. Joshua Bell
