Ms. Olga Azalia Ogg
A Celebration of Life for Ms. Olga Azalia Ogg will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Services, 3822 E. 7th Avenue, Tampa 33605. Olga Azalia Powlett-Ogg was born January 2nd, 1957 in Colón, Republic of Panamá to Joseph Powlett (Deceased) and Olga Drakes (Deceased).
She graduated from Colegio Abel Bravo and shortly after started to work in the Free-Zone, then she moved to Panamá City where she worked as an English teacher at Juana Daniels Elementary for many years until she decided to travel to New York. There she worked different types of jobs until she became a CNA and worked at the Veterans Hospital in Queens, N.Y.
Sally, as her friends and family used to call her, was a woman of God, always dedicated to server the Lord and everyone that needed her help.
My mom was a person that didn’t like to stay still. She used to love to dance, travel and have fun. She was always on the GO!! with a smile on her face.
Anytime I used to call her, my mom never answered her phone until hours later and then she’d say, ‘Why are you tracking me down?’
Sister Ogg, as her brothers and sisters called her, was a faithful member of Abigail Chapter No. 17 of Omega District Grand Lodge where she became Secretary and Past Illustrative Matron of the Chapter. She was also a member of the Panamanian Quadril Square Dance Group.
It hurts to see our mom go, but we all know that she’s still here in our hearts.
Olga, Sally, Sister Ogg, as we all knew her, left a touch of kindness, wisdom, and laughter in each one of us.
As 2 Corinthians 5:5,6 says, ‘Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. So, we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.’
Olga is preceded in death by her Mother Olga, Father Joseph, Stepfather Rodolfo, her brother Humberto and her sister Monica
She is survived her loving children: Daughter Azalia and husband Rigoberto, Son Ernesto; by her Brothers: Fransico, Rodolfo and Rafael; her Sisters: Mirna, Nilka, Dolores and Iris; Grandchildren: Kimberly E., Kimberly K., and Kristhian; Uncle Victor Temple and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces as well as loving friends.
Let the life of my mom Olga teach us to live our lives worthy of a crown.
