My mother and aunt Carrie were childhood friends and they both left Rocky Mount and moved to the Bronx, NY area. Their childhood relationship was that of extended family, I remember my mom and I visiting aunt Carrie and she always had "good food to offer you. As, a child I spent my summers visiting my grandparents in Rocky Mount and one Summer I rode the Amtrack train with her because she was visiting her family as well. When my mother and her childhood friend passed away in November, 2017 she was such a blessing to me and my family, cooking food and doing anything else she could do to help support us during our bereavement. My prayers continue for the McNeil family, all of her loved ones along with family friends.
