I can't find the words to express how shocking and heartbreaking Tavis' passing has been. My heart goes out to his family and friends and especially to his loving and devoted Mother-who raised a respectful and hardworking young man. May God keep and soothe Tavis' loved ones during this trying time and God rest his soul.

I am so blessed to have memories of this amazing young man. I became close with he and his family through my sister who worked with his mom and became close friends. From when he was young until now he always had that kind smile. My favorite memory was just recently when my sister and I came home and noticed we had new neighbors moving in. I started to speak to the nice young man and then immediately there was recognition, "Ms. Jones (he said)!!" "TAVIS (my sister said)!!!" He smiled so big and gave us both hugs. Just about every day when I got home from work or was about to head out somewhere we would see each other and he would always smile and say, "Hey, Ms. Jones," and ask how I was doing. These are memories I will keep with me always. Many prayers and blessings to the whole family and all who knew and loved this amazing young man.

What a gift you were Tavis. I was blessed to see you grow so much in elementary school. I remember when I had Stan, the class hamster, and you would come at the end of every day just to sit and visit with him. It was so great to see you grow up and continue to do so well. I loved catching up with you in the line at Chick-fil-A... from childhood, till the last time I saw you, you kept that same bright smile, always respectful and kind... so heartbroken.
