Obituary For Grady "Al" Timberlake

Grady “Al” Timberlake passed away December 26, 2020 at home in Durham, North Carolina. Al was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to Daisy and Grady Timberlake on August 27, 1952.

Al was baptized at an early age at Mt. Olive Baptist church by A.T. Smith. He was a faithful Sunday school member. Al attended public schools in Durham County, he graduated from Durham High, where he participated in athletics by playing on the football team. He furthered his education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill receiving a BS in Business Administration in 1974. During his attendance at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Al pledged on the first line of Omega Psi Phi. Upon graduating college, Al went on to hold varies positions in printing, manufacturing, and procurement engineering. Al retired from St. Clair Technologies in October 2019. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, watching and attending basketball and football games, and following politics and news on CNN.

Al is survived by his loving and devoted daughter Renee Timberlake, his mother Daisy Thompson, his sister Jacqueline Macon (Willie), his brother Michael Joiner (Elizabeth), Tameka Macon (Niece), Kareem Macon (Nephew), Anthony Jones (Nephew), Benjamin Macon (Great Nephew), former wife and best friend Bettye Blackwell, step son Brent Walker (Kim) and step daughter Brandi Tucker (Bob), Sydney Walker (step granddaughter), India Gregory (step granddaughter) and other loving relatives and caring friends . He was proceeded in death by his father Grady Timberlake and his stepfather Robert Thompson.

Memorial Service will be held at Piney wood Park, 400 E Woodcroft Pkwy Durham, NC 27713, Saturday January 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM

Masks are to be worn and social distancing required at all meetings, visits and services. All acts of kindness are appreciated during this difficult time.

Flowers will not be accepted on behalf of the family at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home.
