Prayers to Deborah's family. Know that she was loved, especially by her Howard High Class of 1968. Seeing and hearing her lead our class song "Lead Me, Guide Me" at our 50th class reunion in 2018 let me know that she was truly a child of God who let Him "lead her and guide her". She will be sorely missed here on earth, but is eternally at rest in her Heavenly Home with her Lord. May His mercy and grace stay with the family always. Lynda Roberson Louis, LaPlace, LA.

. I am saddened by the passing of Deborah. She was such a sweet little student who I only remember seeing once after graduation. She had kind words for me then. I pray for peace and comfort for her family.

IN LOVING MEMORY of our smiling, laughing , singing classmate Deborah Perkins Moore
Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav'n and home, When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He: His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. Refrain: I sing because I'm happy, I sing because I'm free, For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. "Let not your heart be troubled," His tender word I hear, And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears; Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise, When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies, I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

December 29, 2020 My son who was a year younger than Ricky Blaylock was in Atlanta visiting Ricky when he was in college; Ricky took him over to Deborah's house. Deborah had not seen my son in a long time; she did not recognize him. and as they were talking my son was talking as if he knew Deborah after a while Deborah asked Ricky who is this and he said Bettye Lou's son. Deborah had to laugh that she did not know who he was. Over the years we still laugh about that. I was 7 years older than Deborah; I moved to Memphis when she was a teenager ' I did not know Deborah could sing until I moved back to Chattanooga in the 1990s. Deborah was living in Atlanta, the Church she belonged to came and visited New Monumental and Deborah lead a song; she had such a beautiful singing voice. The Perkins family moved up the street from us when I was 7 or 8 years old and we became instant friends. We became close to them like we were siblings.

My condolences to the family I know the pain from losing a loved one can be unbearable at times, but the bible can be a great source of comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 in that it tells us that God is the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, and even goes on to give us the hope of the resurrection (Acts 24:15)
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
