Obituary For Willie James “Nanny Man” Lockhart
Funeral service for Willie Lockhart, 69, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Mt. Travelers Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1229 S Dawson Avenue, Waverly, Alabama 36879, Elder David Heard will officiate.
Mr. Lockart, who passed away Monday, March 3, 2025 at his home in Opelika, Alabama, was born July 15, 1955, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: wife, Lottie Barnett Lockhart of Opelika, AL; six children, Evangelist Aleisha Lockhart-Gossom of Atlanta, GA, Lawander Wright of Opelika, AL, Latasha Miller of Auburn, AL, Constance Lockhart (Michael) Blair of Opelika, AL, Tewanda Lockhart of Montgomery, AL and Michael (Marilyn) Barnett of Opelika, AL; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Lockart, Jr. and Timothy (LaChandra) Lockhart both of Waverly, AL; two sisters-in-law, Cynthia (Larry) Gibson and Mary Barnett Williams both of Opelika, AL; two brothers-in-law, Ulysses (Frances) Barnett and Arthur Barnett both of Opelika, AL; three devoted friends, Charlie Kelly and John Stinson and Warren Motley all of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
