Obituary For Willie James Love

Funeral service for Willie Love, 93, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 29, 2023, at Ferguson Chapel C.M.E. Church, 310 South 4th Street, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Orlando Sims, Sr. will officiate.

Mr. Love, who passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 at his home in Opelika, Alabama, was born March 29, 1930, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Love will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: four children, Eddie James Black, Jerlene (William) Cooper, Emma Love all of Opelika, AL and Tarzen (Christine) Black of Auburn, AL; three grandchildren, Mary Helen Black of Charleston, SC, Helena Frye of Opelika, AL and Cranston Black of Auburn, AL; four great-grandchildren, Fallon Frye, Olyvia Black, Kordell Kornicky and Camillia Tapley; one great-great-grandson, Carson Black; one special niece, Mary Frances Dinkins of Waverly, AL; five devoted friends, Lorenza Wright, John Tyler Webb, Sylvester Brooks, William Jones and Edward Morgan; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
