Obituary For SFC (Ret) Robert D. Lee

Funeral service for Robert Lee, 84, of Opelika, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Roger Jones will officiate.

Mr. Lee, who passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023 at his home in Opelika, Alabama, was born January 10, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Public viewing will be Friday, January 12, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. The family will be present from 4:30 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Margaret Lee of Opelika, AL; one son, Kenneth Stringer of Opelika, AL; two grandchildren, Cassidy Annette Lee and Danielle Lorena Lee both of Baton Rouge, LA; one great-grandchild, Xavier Andrew Lee Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA; five brothers, Hubert McGee, Jr., John (Rebecca) Thomas both of New Orleans, LA, Joseph McGee (Ilene Irish) of Wilner, LA, Samuel (Wanda) McGee of Slidell, LA and Alfred G. McGee of Slidell, LA; four sisters, Maxine (Edmond) Harris of New Orleans, LA, Claudia (Cleveland) Neal of Caledonia, MS, Rosa (Pastor Roy) Burton of Roseland, LA and Lois Lee of Amite, LA; special niece, Mary Jean Bullard of Opelika, AL; godson, Brandon T. James of Pearl River, LA; three sisters-in-law, Annie Jean Stringer, Dorothy Stringer both of Opelika, AL and JoAnn (Freddie) Johnson of Columbus, GA; one brother-in-law, Charles Stringer of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
