Obituary For Nellie Mae Wilson

Funeral service for Nellie Wilson, 87, of Opelika, AL, will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Jonathon Benton will officiate.

Mrs. Wilson, who passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at her home in Opelika, Alabama, was born February 20, 1936, in Lee County, Alabama. She was preceded in death by: husband, Bernard Wilson; son, Edward “Eric” Wilson and grandson, Andrew Lewis Bryant.

Public viewing will be Friday, January 12, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Theodore (Carolyn) Wilson, Andrew Wilson, and Gwendolyn Wilson all of Opelika, Al; five grandchildren, Antavious Smith, Vandy (Shay) Wilson, Marshelle Wilson, Russell Wilson, (Krystal Colquitt, fiancé), and Justice Wilson; ten great-grandchildren, Jalan Spinks Bryant, JaKiya Wilson, Aniyah Echols, Kaylen Wilson, Jaleah Harper, Alana Wilson, Vandy Wilson, Jr.,Luv Wilson, VaQuerrion Wilson and Vailey Wilson; one great-great grandchild, Paisley Watts; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Taylor of Columbus, GA and Alcenia Stevenson of Detroit, MI; five adopted grandchildren, Jamar Williams, Rashard Williams, Aundra Rogers, Jacarl Vinson, Syriah Vinson; three bonus grandchildren, Cameron Boozer, Zameron Boozer and Shamiracle Dunn; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
