Obituary For Michael Lamar "Mike" "Slow" Tarver

Funeral services for Michael Tarver, 62, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, 7282 AL Highway 14, Loachapoka, AL, 36865, with interment in Pine Level Cemetery, 4650 Arrow Head Road, Loachapoka, AL, 36865, Reverend Phelix Lockhart will officiate.

Mr. Tarver, who passed away, Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at his home in Opelika, Alabama, was born December 28, 1960 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, September 8, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Tarver will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: father, Roger Drake of Syracuse, NY; three sisters, Constance Echols of Opelika, AL, Mary (Garry) Scott and Vickey Harper both of Syracuse, NY; two brothers, Stanley (Cheryl) Tarver of Atlanta, GA and Carl Drake of Syracuse, NY; one aunt, Betty Reese of Auburn, AL; two uncles, Otis (Apostle Kathreen) Vaughn of Loachapoka, AL and Michael (Opal) Vaughn of Phenix City, AL; one niece, Qwanza (Tyrone) Anthony of Opelika, AL; four nephews, Terrance (Lethia) Echols, Danyell (Kawanna) Collier both of Auburn, AL, Jernardo Echols and Joshua Tarver both of Opelika, AL; cousins as brothers, Earnest (Deborah) Walker of Augusta, GA and Thaddues Jackson of Phenix City, AL; six special friends, Terry Ware, Jeff Edwards, Jimmy Dowdell, Kenny Baker all of Opelika, AL, Jeff Stephens of Auburn, AL and Eddie Lawrence (Tayanna Dowdell) of Iron Stone, AL; a host of special great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
