Obituary For McArthur "Mack" Fears

Funeral service for McArthur Fears, 80, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2024, at Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church, 4454 Lee Road 166, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend S. Dewayne Drakeford will officiate.

Mr. Fears, who passed away Monday, October 14, 2024 at his home in Opelika, Alabama, was born March 17, 1944, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Fears will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three children, Naomi Fears, Montina Fears and Cipi Jiles all of Opelika, AL; eight grandchildren, Imani Butler, Cipi “CJ” Jiles, Tanzania Jiles, Tristan Ware, Conner Bedell Jiles, Blake Bedell Jiles, Trace Ware all of Opelika, AL and Nicholas Scott Robinson of Birmingham, AL; one brother, William (Lonzia) Fears of Cleveland, OH; two sisters, Ernestine Thomas of Smiths Station, AL and Margie McGhee of Opelika, AL; three sisters-in-law, Ella Baldwin Fears and Sadie Williams of Salem, AL and Margie Johnson Fears of Opelika, AL; two special nieces, Patricia Fears and Sherry Gentry Sydnor both of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
